Hi, a few people have asked me about Inchydoney, how is it pronounced and is it a real place. Well, it is a very real place. It is actually one of the most beautiful places I have ever been. I have been there many, many times and have not one bad memory.

So, how do you pronounce Inchydoney: INCH-A-DONEY (like donkey without the k), but like a local, you have to say it quickly.

Where is it exactly: It is about 45-50 kilometers from Cork City on the South West Coast. Clonakilty is the closest town and that is about four kilometers away. The locals call it Inchydoney Island, however it is not exactly an island, but maybe in another few hundred years, it will be separated completely from the mainland. As I try to describe in THE DEADLY STEPS, the beaches are enormous. Most of the time they are relatively calm but when the storms hit, the waves can be twenty meters high. Below, is a map of the South Coast of Ireland. CORK CITY is the light colored area, near the center and Inchydoney is the red dot.

Here are another few photos of Inchydoney, that I took while I was there in November 2022:

THIS IS THE EAST BEACH

THIS IS A PHOTO OF BOTH BEACHES FROM THE DUNMORE AREA ACROSS THE BAY

The photos don't do it justice, but check it out on the internet. There are some amazing drone shots. Some people are asking when is Alibi for an Alibi coming out? Probably late fall or early winter. I will certainly let everyone know. THANKS AGAIN FOR READING THE DEADLY STEPS

Take Care and Stay Safe.. JOHN
