You will have seen that it is not your typical commercial 'Murder Mystery'. In fact it is not a mystery at all.  THE DEADLY STEPS is a story! It is a story about police officers, who are trying to solve the most awful crimes. The first book in this series in THE DEADLY STEPS . The Deadly Steps is set mostly in Cork City, Ireland. The protagonist, Detective Inspector John Cahill is an unlikely protagonist. In fact he is not even a member of the Garda Siochana, (the Irish National Police).  John Cahill and his wife, Jules, are natives of Cork City. They were very happy with their life, training a small string of racehorses on the beaches of Inchydoney, near Clonakilty. Until John suffered severe injuries from a fall at Down Royal Racecourse in Northern Ireland. After a long recovery John's career in horseracing is over.
